NorthScout respects your privacy. This policy explains what information may be collected when you use northscout.ca, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Information you provide: your email address and anything you include when contacting us or requesting updates.
- Technical information: hosting, security and analytics services may receive information such as IP address, browser and device type, approximate location, referring page, pages viewed and time of visit.
- Interaction information: with permission, we measure visits, scrolling, outbound affiliate-link clicks and checklist downloads so we can understand which NorthScout resources are useful.
Cookies and analytics choices
NorthScout uses essential website technology and offers optional Google Analytics measurement. Optional analytics storage is denied unless you choose “Allow analytics” in the privacy notice. If you decline, optional analytics cookies remain disabled. You can reopen the notice using the “Privacy choices” button, or clear this site’s stored data in your browser.
Google Analytics helps us understand site use in aggregate. Google may process limited technical and usage information on our behalf, including outside Canada. NorthScout does not use Google Analytics to collect names, email addresses or payment information, and advertising storage remains disabled.
How information is used
Information is used to operate and protect the website, respond to messages, deliver requested updates, understand performance, correct problems and improve NorthScout content. We limit collection and use to reasonable purposes connected with these activities.
Service providers and external links
NorthScout may rely on hosting, email, security, analytics and other service providers that process limited information on our behalf. Articles may link to retailers, manufacturers, affiliate networks or other websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links. A retailer or affiliate network may record that a visit or purchase was referred by NorthScout. NorthScout may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Retention and safeguards
Personal information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for its purpose, legal requirements or resolving disputes. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and access
You may decline optional analytics, unsubscribe from promotional email using the link in a message, or ask what personal information NorthScout holds about you. You may also request a correction or raise a privacy concern by contacting us.
Children
NorthScout is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly seek personal information from children.
